Building Financial Futures Together

We've spent years helping Canadians understand investments, and honestly, every conversation teaches us something new about what people really need to know.

How We Started

Back in 2019, I was sitting in a coffee shop in Moncton when a friend asked me about ETFs. She'd been reading online but felt overwhelmed by conflicting advice. That conversation lasted three hours.

It struck me how many smart people felt lost when it came to investing. Not because they couldn't understand it, but because most educational resources either assumed too much knowledge or oversimplified everything.

We started Yoorilex because financial education shouldn't feel like solving a puzzle with missing pieces.

What Drives Our Work

Clear Communication

We explain investment concepts without the jargon. If something sounds confusing, we'll find another way to say it until it clicks.

Practical Focus

Every lesson connects to real situations. We use examples from actual Canadian investors and current market conditions.

Personal Support

Learning about money can feel personal and sometimes stressful. We create space for questions without judgment.

Background

Marcus spent twelve years working in portfolio analysis before switching to education in 2020. He holds a CFA designation and has taught investment fundamentals at two Maritime universities.

What sets him apart is his ability to break down complex financial models into everyday language. He's particularly good at helping people understand risk management without getting scared away from investing entirely.

Teaching Philosophy

"I believe everyone can learn to invest wisely, but they need the right foundation first. Too many people jump into stock picking before understanding asset allocation basics."

Marcus develops all our curriculum with input from real students. He regularly updates content based on questions that come up during sessions.

Outside Work

When not teaching, Marcus volunteers as a financial literacy mentor for newcomers to Canada. He also maintains a small vegetable garden and reads extensively about behavioral economics.

1

Start With Your Situation

We begin by understanding your current financial picture and goals. This helps us focus on concepts that matter most for your circumstances rather than generic advice.

2

Build Core Knowledge

We cover fundamental concepts like diversification, risk tolerance, and tax efficiency. Each topic includes Canadian examples and current market context.

3

Apply What You Learn

Through case studies and practice exercises, you'll work with real investment scenarios. We use actual fund data and market situations to make learning relevant.

4

Develop Your Strategy

By the end, you'll have a clear framework for making investment decisions that fit your goals, timeline, and comfort level with risk.
